Story of Andaz: The Resort Experience

Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa is an experience in luxurious cultural immersion, a new kind of resort that celebrates all things local with a mix of sophistication and a convivial spirit. The design, color, and heart of Andaz reflect a refreshing mix of old and new, classic style and innovative design.

The Andaz experience begins when you enter the Guest House, a space for relaxation and connection with a cool beverage, not just the place to retrieve your room key. Discover something new at Textiles & Objects, a carefully curated collection of art and distinctive gifts.

The architecture and design aesthetic of the Guest House evokes the masters of the mid-century era, with floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light. The sleek modernity is accented with textural elements: a sculptural brick wall, rich, red cedar ceilings, the colorful whimsy of fiber art, and an ever-changing gallery featuring the myriad talents of local artists embody the Andaz experience — inclusive, relaxed, stylish, creative.

The bright and playful colors of Alexander Girard are woven throughout the public and private spaces of the resort, drawing inspiration form the ever-changing palate of the desert.

Color is the heart of Andaz, but art is its soul. The Cattle Track Artists Compound, founded in the 1920s, is less than a mile from the Resort. Our collaboration with the talented painters, sculptors, ceramicists, photographers, print makers, fiber artists, textile designers, and performers associated with this legendary community is evidenced in every space. The Andaz Scottsdale Salon’s artist-in-residence program creates a vibrant, interactive, guest experience, with events, tours, concerts and classes to inform, inspire, and encourage connection with the local community.

Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen is an exciting culinary arts experience. Its open feel features gorgeous views of the Turquoise Pool and Camelback Mountain. From its unique “glass box,” kitchen, Executive Chef Adam Sheff offers a menu of small, sharable plates that blend local influences and ingredients with his traditional culinary training. The all-day menu allows you to enjoy brunch any time, day or night, so you can sleep in and still eat pancakes. At cocktail time our artisanal cocktails and unique bar snacks are a crafted to delight, with unexpected flavors coaxed from local ingredients.

Outside the Guest House are a variety of comfortable spots to relax and have a conversation. Gather around one of the many fire pits that dot the property to watch the sun set behind Camelback Mountain and the night sky fill with stars.

The spirit of connection continues throughout the resort where clusters of low-slung bungalows house 201 guest rooms and suites, each with its own front terrace. Colorfully cushioned banco seating and teak tables are just right for enjoying morning coffee or an evening cocktail al fresco, crafted from our in-room mixology experience featuring complementary mixers accompanied by locally-curated snacks or items ordered from the in-room dining menu.

On the south side of the property lies the Retreat, a secluded “resort within a resort” featuring 23 rooms surrounding a private pool and shaded lawn providing the ultimate exclusivity for wedding parties, corporate retreats, celebrity getaways, and private social gatherings. The Albers House is the Retreat’s luxurious suite, furnished with chic, mid-century modern furnishings, eye-catching art and plenty of space for entertaining - or keeping all to yourself. The large private exterior patio features fantastic views of Camelback Mountain, and comes alive in the evening with a fire pit surrounded by comfortable seating.

Guest rooms feature a unique combination of rustic wood beamed ceilings and hand-troweled walls with crisp modern drywall and tile finishes - the perfect backdrop for the textile design prints of Janet Towbin, colorful etchings by sculptor and painter Larry Passey, and drawings, paintings and prints from Koryn Woodward, Brent Bond, Mark McDowell, and Matt Magee, and other renowned Cattle Track artists.

Bathrooms stocked with premium botanical toiletries and plush towels are the perfect space to refresh or get ready for an evening on the town.

There is plenty to enjoy beyond the bungalow at the Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa. The spectacular Turquoise Pool is the ideal spot to soak up the sun and enjoy the poolside scene. Relax on the main pool deck or in your own private cabana featuring comfortable furnishings, warm Mangaris wood accents, privacy curtains, and flat-screen TVs for a premium poolside experience.
